How To Learn A Foreign Language?

Some of the basic rules: Foreign language courses are way apart from other courses and you should never stall the proceedings. Any postponement means failure in a foreign language course where it is mandatory to put in minimum of 3 hours weekly and 15 minutes on a daily basis. Devote any additional time in pursuing your language lessons but not more than 45 minutes per session.

Fork out your whole study material into several manageable units. If you are serious about learning the language, attend classes regularly in order to pass. You could revisit your learning off and on and check what your have learnt in the past, for example the vocabulary. Give below are some clues which can make your attempt to learn a foreign language as easy as ABC.

Running through printed material: Focus on reading purely for comprehension and do not stop when you come across new words. Glance through the text book chapters every day taking one small section at a time.

Speaking: Making mistakes is inevitable so listen to your friends in the class and start communicating. Practice the foreign language by talking loudly to yourself, or communicating with your friends in the same class or even with your own dog or cat at home.

Putting pen to paper: Practice your skills on putting down your thoughts on paper till it becomes effortless.

Follow a dictation of the language and check how much of it you have written correctly.

Some Miscellaneous Helps: View the foreign language learning positively and set achievable goals. Make sure you are fully aware of what your goals are and how to reach there. {1.f you need help get it and do not be afraid to ask questions or ask for help for fear of sounding stupid, or being embarrassed.} 1.Do not feel shy or embarrassed to seek help when you want it. {2.Get audio tapes of the language and listen to them or make you own tapes and listened to yourself in order to perfect your pronunciation.} 2.To excel in pronunciation, listen to audio tape of others made with the language or record something yourself and listen to them. 3.Try making colored flash cards for improving vocabulary where you use different colors for the different genders and categories of words like nouns, verbs, etc. 4.Practicing the learning in groups is helpful in the sense that you develop friendship with your classmates who can also offer assistance in the process of learning.
